Texas Hold’em is one of the most popular game variants of poker. In this game, two cards, known as hole cards are dealt face down to each player, and then five community cards are dealt face up in three stages. The stages in this game consist of a series of three cards known as the flop, an additional single card known as the turn or fourth street, and a final card known as the river or fifth street. Each player in this game seeks to make the best five-card poker hand from any combination of the seven cards, the community cards, and their two hole cards. Players can check, call, raise, or even fold.
However, do you know what to do if you get a tie? Here are a few poker rules you can use while playing in a tie-breaker scenario:
Royal Flush
A tie-breaker is not possible in Royal Hand between two players in Texas Hold’em Poker. But, if a dealer deals in a Royal Flush through five community cards, then the pot is split amongst all the players.
Straight Flush
A tie-breaker is not possible in this poker hand rankings between two players who have Straight Flush. When a dealer deals in a Straight Flush via the five community cards, the pot is split amongst all players, provided no player holds a Royal Flush. It also means that the Straight Flush is the strongest hand on the table. When two Players have a Straight Flush, then the higher Straight Flush wins.
Four of a Kind
A tie is not possible between two players in this poker hand rankings if they have a matching Four of a Kind except when a dealer deals Four of a Kind via community cards. When this happens, the kicker comes into place and whichever player holds the highest ranked card wins.
Full House
It is not possible to break a tie in Full House, and when two players have the same Full House, then the pot is always split. The Full House strength is to determine the three matching cards first, followed by the two matching cards or pairs. In this hand, a kicker is not used to determine a winner.
Flush
While playing Texas Hold’em poker, two or more players can't have the same Flush. If there are two players with this same hand ranking, then the highest Flush wins. When the dealer deals with a Flush via Community Cards, and it’s the highest Flush, then the pot is split amongst all players in hand. The player's cards are determining this highest Flush with the board cards taking into account the highest combination.
Straight
When two or more players have the same Straight via community cards, then the pot is split. If players make a Straight using their hole cards and community cards, then the straight ending in the highest ranked card wins.
